The Syrian flag represents the sovereignty and unity of the state.
Any act of disrespect toward it is a direct affront to the dignity of the Syrian people.
What has occurred reflects a serious challenge to state authority and requires an immediate and decisive response.
Accordingly, we call for:
- A prompt and transparent investigation into the incident
- Accountability for all those involved without exception
- Firm enforcement of respect for national symbols across all regions
- Clear measures to prevent the recurrence of such actions
We further warn that continued leniency in addressing such incidents may lead to escalating public anger and instability.
The role of the state is not to observe, but to act decisively in protecting its sovereignty.
